Back To WoW!

With the absence of quality MMO's on the market currently (and TOR being a year away) I have decided to jump back into the World of Warcraft arena scene.  I have been out of arena play for quite some time and the last time I even stepped foot in one was back in Season 3 when I played a Warlock to just under 2100 rating.

Well, here he is again making his presence known in Eye of the Storm topping the damage charts as usual.

Even though Blizzard has snubbed their nose at the 2v2 bracket, I have begun playing 2's on my Discipline Priest Philotomus and am playing with my buddy Ray, a pretty well-geared rogue named Rikochet.  We have been at it for about 3 days and are rated just under 1k.  Considering our time constraints with work and family, we are very pleased with our progress so far.

I am currently only running around 1k resilience and 2500 spell power but overall we have done fairly well with a positive win/loss ratio.  Believe me though, we have had some VERY close games against some pretty tough comps.  Two nights ago we had a game where I was literally sitting at less than 500 health with a Destruction Lock winding up a Chaos Bolt when Rikochet got the Kidney Shot off, allowing me to throw a Penance on myself.

Here are our tougher matchups:

Warrior/Paladin is always a good match for us but we come out on the winning end about 75% of the time. Offensive dispels and sitting on the healer is just to much for paladins usually unless they are really good at LOS.  If they are good at pole humping and the Warrior switches often, it can get messy.

Double/DPS - Rogue/Rogue can be tough, Rogue/Mage is extremely tough.

BeastCleave is nearly unstoppable.  I am sorry but the Shaman wolves have to go.  There is almost nothing a team like ours can do about the wolves and the hunters pet except run and try to stay alive around the poles.  Basically every time we face this team, they unleash everything on me until I am dead.  I think we have a 0% win rate against this comp.

2v2 arena has been really enjoyable so far.  All in all we are having a great time and that's really what its about for us.

Glad to see you jumped back into the arena scene bro! Look forward to seeing how far you take it this time. You were a good lock back in S3 and would love to team up again. Talk later.
