4Great Driving Simulator
By Neema
I have been playing the Gran Turismo series since Gran Turismo 2 for the Playstation (PSX).

The series has come a long way, since the bug-ridden days of GT 2 but this latest iteration isn’t perfect either.

The developers are constantly updating this game, with new tracks, cars, and updates, about a year and a half since the game has been released. This definitely helps with the games longevity.

While it is disappointing that there are segregated “Premium” and “Standard” cars, at least the Standard cars now have a darkened “Driver’s View”. Still, it is weird to have two graphically different cars on the same racetrack, one with so many polygons, and another duller vehicle with less polygons. Graphically this franchise has been leaps and bounds ahead of other race franchises, too bad GT 5 didn’t keep up with it’s own pace graphically.

The B-Spec, is a large part of the game if you get into it but the mechanics there are so simple, it’s kind of bland. It gets boring really quickly. But the thing is a lot of B-Spec events also net you prize cars, so if you are hunting for all cars…guess you gotta go through with it.

So the 5 star “fun rating” and 4 star “overall rating” stem primarily from the A-Spec and player-driven aspect of the game. I’ve played this game with a controller and with a steering wheel and in both cases it is lots of fun. Driving real cars, especially weak ones, doesn’t sound like fun, but this game makes it fun. Hmmm..wonder if I take my neighbors car and throttle it in a race circuit, what would happen? Or even my own car? Or my parents car? It’s awesome to be able to play a game and do away with the speed limits (so long as their car has more than 66hp :) .

This game is so in-depth, the customization seemingly endless, it’s awesome to dress up your car the way you want to. This is the very reason that this game may not be the best thing to happen to people who have OCD-tendencies…

I haven’t even touched the online races, but the ability to race against other random people or your friends while setting your own restrictions/rules is awesome. There simply is not a better game to put your pedal to the metal!

EPIC game + DLCs free

$40 for an epic driving game + free $20 coupon for extra DLCs, so you pay $40 for $60? Hell yeah!

Buy this ASAP

Been playing Gran Turismo since the ”Playstation” came out with demos CD on their boxes, i had a demo of Gran Turismo and forever fell in love with the game, bought Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo 2, then Gran Turismo 3 came out for PS2 had to buy the PS2 then get Gran Tursimo 3 and 4 and now i had to buy a PS3 to play GT5 XL. When Sony release a PS4 i wont mind to buy it so fast but if they release GT6 with it im buying both at the same time. THIS GAME IS A FREAKING ”MUST PLAY” IF YOU LOVE CARS.

Good thing i bought my PS3 last month i was thinking of buying GT5 but this came out of nowhere great timing guys :D

5GT5 a master piece.
By Michael
I haven’t play GT since GT3 and god how much did I miss it. the graphics a great and gaming experience nice and smooth, 1080p, (most like it because you pretty much have to install the entire game on to your HDD) and install like three other stuff that I really didn’t care to know. for the same price as GT5 the XL Edition its a most get.
